Born in 1927 in Pennsylvania, Marty passed away peacefully June 11th, 2009 surrounded by family after a short illness. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945, always claiming the enemy surrendered when they knew he was coming. He served most of his military time in Japan and loved to travel.

He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Upsala University. His working career was as a senior regional sales manager for Allstate Insurance company in California and Washington. While working he enjoyed boating in the Pacific Northwest for recreation. He was active as a board member of Seafair and the Special People's Christmas Cruise held annually in Seattle.

A highlight of his life was a two year road trip around the USA in his RV. He wrote a popular golf column "Tee Off with Marty Finn" for the Press Enterprise for 7 years. His energy allowed him to never truly retire, he would just take on community service work full time. His passion, pride and joy was in founding the non-profit organization, "Grandfathers for Golf" in 1999, which continues to serve the youngsters of the San Jacinto Valley middle schools. This strong Irishman is survived by his devoted wife, Pat, his brothers Dennis and Thomas and his 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

At his request there will be no service.
As a memorial, contributions may be made in Marty's name to:
Grandfathers for Golf, 2230-89 Lake Park Drive, San Jacinto, CA 92583.
